CAMRA Isle of Man Beer Festival 2020

Basically this started off as a few of our regular Isle of Man July vintage transport festival trip people going, but Don Booth expressed an interest and he's already booked it, so we thought if anyone else from the branch fancies a beer trip "abroad" at Easter its a good opportunity.

The beer festival starts on Thursday 9th April 2020 and goes on until Saturday 11th 2020 at the Villa Marina. We are getting a ferry across on Wednesday 8th April 2020 and coming back on Tuesday 14th 2020, probably from Liverpool on the 'Cat.

Viv and myself found a really good deal at the Sefton, which is about a hundred yards away from the Villa Marina, its a bit upmarket from the B&B we usually stay in, but its in the right location, and with the deal we got didn't cost much more.

There are plenty of other B&Bs nearby, the Devonian springs to mind, which we have stayed in before.

At the same time, but starting on Good Friday, as an added attraction there's a vintage transport festival on and all the Steam Railway, Manx Electric Railway, Snaefell Mountain and the Horse Trams run an enhanced timetable.

A "Go" card costs around £40 for 5 days and gets you "free" travel on all of these plus the Islands buses as well. As veterans we have a very well oiled trail from pub to pub mainly using the MER and the Steam Railway with the odd bus to parts unreachable by the rest.
