Club of the Year competition
The Club of the Year (COTY) is an annual competition held by CAMRA to find the "best" Club in Britain. Clubs are judged on a number of criteria which include:-
- Quality of real ale
- Promotion and Knowledge of real ale
- Community Focus
- Cleanliness
- Service and Welcome
- Style, Décor and Atmosphere
- Sympathy with CAMRA's Aims
- Overall Impression and Value
The competition progresses through local, regional and national stages.
Like most large Branches, we are fortunate to enjoy a wealth of Clubs selling real ale. These vary in type - From politically affiliatied institutions, Working men’s clubs, and generic Sports clubs, to more specifically sports oriented clubs (Cricket, Bowls, Tennis, etc) and even spaces dedicated to village or town Brass Bands and the like.
