The White House is situated where the Pennine way crosses the A58 between Rochdale and Halifax. Built in 1691 as the Coach and Horses the building is 1,300ft above sea level giving panoramic views of the moors and valley below. A family run establishment for 30 years offering a warm and friendly welcome with walkers being welcome. The pub has four rooms, both with log fires. Excellent food is served, all day on Sunday. There is a bus stop on the Rochdale to Halifax route outside the front door. Reopened 4/7/2020
