After a short closure for refurbishment, the pub has now re-opened as a restaurant & bar selling up to four real ales. The new licensees, James and Heather Taylor, are from Heyside and previously ran a food outlet called Beastro in the Spinningfields area of central Manchester. The premises have been tastefully redecorated to create a bar lounge area for drinkers and informal dining and a separate dining room in the former vault, which provides a meat led range of modern style dishes. The pub operates as a true freehouse so the range of beers on offer could include some LocAles, as well as beers from more distant parts of the country. Early bird menu now available Tuesday to Saturday 12 noon until 4pm, two courses £9, three courses £12.
