Situated close to the Roman Road connecting Manchester to Oldham, the pub was originally a row of cottages back in 1843. It is now a popular community local and whilst open plan, it still feels like three separate rooms, served by one long bar. The pub has been nicely refurbished internally. There is a fenced table area to the front and the walled beer garden to the side with two smoking shelters, one heated, overlooked by a towering pear tree. Wednesday is Quiz Night, Sunday Karaoke Night. Off road car parking is available, by the side, accessed via James St, then Windsor St.
