Stone built pub comprising a central bar area and two rooms, one with a wood-burning stove. A benched, cobbled forecourt to the front of the pub is used for drinking and smoking. Six hand pumps serving three Locale ales comprising Greenfield and Millstone breweries are served together with home cooked food from Wednesday to Sunday until 8pm (7pm Sun). The large car park, which has recently been vresurfaced, makes a handy base for local walks into the Saddleworth countryside. The King Bill is the centre of village life featuring in the annual August Rushcart Festival and Whit Friday Brass Band Contest. The pub can get very busy when live football is being shown and children and dogs are welcome. Donkeytone beers are now on sale
